Mark Davis Receives Recognition for Leading the Whey
(Le Sueur, MN) American Dairy Products Institute announced Mark Davis, President and Chief Executive Officer for Davisco Foods International, to be the recipient of the 2000 Award of Merit today in Chicago, Illinois. The American Dairy Products Institute Award of Merit was established in 1991 to recognize individuals that have made outstanding contributions to the dairy industry and have had leading and positive affects on the U.S. dairy industry's evolution.
Mark Davis has driven development of new and unique dairy products that required great risk taking, cutting edge technology and major capital investments at Davisco. In 1983, he installed the first commercial Whey Protein Isolate plant in the world. His leadership in the vast and rapid evolution of whey processing technologies was critical to the ultimate U.S. dairy industry's success in this field. As a result of his work, Davisco Foods holds numerous worldwide patents protecting their unique technologies. Davisco Foods, most importantly is proud to be one of the largest suppliers of cheese to Kraft Foods in Glenview, Illinois. Mark and his company have enjoyed a successful relationship with Kraft Foods for more than 30 years. Kraft is one of the leading food companies in the world and the premier cheese processor worldwide.
Mark Davis travels nationally and internationally promoting U.S. dairy products and guiding user-plants on the development of innovative products from dairy ingredients. He is a firm believer in global markets, and champions the domestic farmer's place within those markets.
